Admission is on a voluntary basis. Students can self-refer or be referred by parents, teachers or health care professionals.  Our Admissions team will work with you to determine if Pine River is a suitable program for your family’s needs. It is important to us that you make the right decision.

The first step is to complete the Online Admissions Inquiry, or call our Admissions Director Amanda Rodgers at 519 925 9225 ext.102.  Our admissions process usually includes a detailed family history, a campus visit, and interviews.

Pine River is a not for profit, fee for service program.  The Ontario Ministries of Health and Education will cover all basic costs of treatment for Ontario students, including but not limited to therapy, school, room and board, wilderness gear while in the Outdoor Leadership Experience phase, school supplies, and clerical and management costs.  These Ontario families will be responsible for a monthly fee of $575 to cover program costs not covered by the government programs.  Examples of some of the non-funded services include the family program including Parent Retreats, transportation and activity fees.

Pine River Institute also welcomes families from outside of Ontario and Canada.  For these families, the fee is $448/day including the day of admission and the day of discharge.

A limited number of bursaries are available from Pine River, and are based on financial need.
